We are now taking bookings for the 20-21st September 2007.


Content:

  • There will be full program of workshops with opportunities to raise questions in a relaxed and productive environment.

  • The face of Home Education 1 a report on recent research into home education in the UK by Mike Fortune-Wood
  • Those Unschooled minds: home education from the perspective of those who have been home educated.

Speakers:

Mike Fortune-Wood

  • Editor of Home Education, a journal of home education in teh UK and abroad.
  • a long standing home educator
  • undertaking extensive research into home education for a leading educational charity.
  • Author of The Face of Home Education in the UK 1
  • owns and runs "Home Education UK" the UK's largest and oldest independent website supporting home education and offering advice.
  • owns and runs the foremost European website on home education.
  • part of the lay editorial team that wrote the "Elective Home Educational Legal guidelines" (EHELG).
  • currently writing books on school refusal and the face of home education in Britain.

Dr. Jan Fortune-Wood

  • a long standing home educator and qualified teacher
  • author of four books on the subject on autonomous education and educational theory.
  • a regular speaker at home education conferences nationally and internationally

Ian Dowty

  • a long standing home educator
  • a solicitor with a specialist practice in home education law who is well-known and respected in the home education community
  • lectures frequently on home education
  • contributed the legal chapters to Free Range Education and Home Educating our Autistic Spectrum Children (Paths are made by Walking).

Cost:

£400 per person inclusive of all costs payable in advance.

Location & Accommodation

The Conference will run over two days in Toddington, Gloucestershire, at the Planned Environment Therapy Trust. Accommodation is in comfortable, purpose built single rooms.
All meals and accommodation are included in the cost, including an evening meal at an excellent local Cotswold restaurant.
